Shop: Scarves & Bandana’s (Code PORTER30 – for 30% off all products)
I am obsessed over the whole bandana movement lately. Head accessories in general are my favorite, like headscarves and bands, they can really spice up your everyday outfit!
I’m really excited about doing a blog post to show you how to wear these head accessories – giving you ideas to make more with what you’ve already got.
Let’s do this!
1. Tie Your Bandana Around Your Pony
I love doing this with bandana’s, makes the look so fun around a ponytail. It adds a little sass to a regular ponytail with barely any effort. You could do a low pony or high, but I usually go high. Pro tip: Use a hair band first to secure and then tie the bandana on for more support.

2. Double Tied as a Choker
Another way to wear your bandana is as a double tie choker like you can see in the outfit below. This way of wearing my bandana took me a minute to get comfortable with, but I love how it looks with any plain shirt. The tip is to make sure you fold the bandana super tight so that all loose ends are secure. It works better when you use a larger, square bandana.
3. Wear It Tied Around Your Neck As A Side Knot Necklace
This is my favorite way to style the bandana at the moment. You can wear this look during any season, which makes it ammmmazing! I usually coordinate the colors with the season to stay in theme (i.e. browns, burgundy, cool colors for fall). I usually will keep the outfit pretty simple with a simple white shirt and denim, letting the bandana or scarf provide that pop of color to the outfit.
4. Wear It Tied Around Your Neck As A Front Knot Necklace
This is pretty much the same thing as way No. 3 (as a necklace), except instead of tying it to the side for a fancier look, tie in front where the knot is centered. I wear it like this for work all the time – it’s such a cute look!
5. Tying the End of Your Braid
If you’re wearing a basic outfit and want a little extra touch, you can tie the bandana at the end of any type of braid. I love the dutch braid shown below, however, fishtail or regular braid works too!
Loving the look, but don’t know where to shop for bandanas or scarves? Here are some of my favorite bandanas slash scarves:
Hope this helps with any cute headscarves or bandanas you have! Do y’all have any other ways to style a bandana or headscarves? Let me know, I would love to try something new!
